CMC-UNC Charlotte Collaborative Grants Program

Carolinas Medical Center - UNC Charlotte Collaborative Grants Program

The Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) and UNC Charlotte Collaborative Grants Program will soon announce a new, more focused, research partnership grant program.  Consequently, no further proposals will be considered until the new program is announced. Please stay tuned for more information about this new funding opportunity, including program guidelines, application form and contact information.

This program, created by Dr. Herbert Bonkovsky, Vice President for Research at Carolinas Medical Center and Dr. Robert Wilhelm, Associate Provost for Strategic Research Partnerships and Executive Director of the Charlotte Research Institute at UNC Charlotte, encourages and facilitates new collaborative research of the best quality at CMC and UNC Charlotte. To date, eleven research projects have been funded.

The goal of the program is to create new research collaborations that include principal investigators from CMC and UNC Charlotte. Investigators are asked to prepare seed grant proposals for research that will lead to grant applications to external federal or other granting agencies. The amounts requested should not exceed $50,000 and extra consideration will be given to requests less than the maximal amount so that more projects can be funded.
