The Charlotte Research Institute’s state-of-the-art facilities profile includes some of the newest research, learning, and business partnership facilities in the region, including the new 200,000sf UNC Charlotte Energy Production and Infrastructure Center (EPIC) and the internationally recognized North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) in nearby Kannapolis. The Partnership, Outreach, and Research to Accelerate Learning (PORTAL) building will provide 96,000 square feet of new CRI campus business partner space including business incubator offices, a sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF), general research and business office rental space, and café. This beautiful building, located at the main entrance to the Charlotte Research Institute campus, will be home to Ventureprise, Inc. and the Small Business and Technology Development Center – both providing direct support services to start-up and early-stage businesses.
